It was August. The year was 1983. The comic that came out was Batman and the Outsiders #1.
Right from the title, you could tell that this was going to be a Batman comic. And if you suspected from the striking cover image that he would be teaming with a group of outsiders, allow me to commend you for your powers of perception.
There would be outsiders in this Batman comic. The Outsiders would be their name.
So they were right to call the book Batman and the Outsiders. They were more right than they would ever know. ∎
